Tour Operator Association Of Assam- The Tour Operators Association of Assam (TOAA) was formed on 08 August 2009 in the conference hall of Prashanti Tourist Lodge, Directorate Of Assam Tourism complex, Panbazar Guwahati with an end to unite all the stakeholders of tourism in Assam to grease a common thing of tourism development in the state.


TOAA got formally registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 on 16 June 2010 by the Registrar of Societies, Assam. Assam, located in the North-East part of India, is rich both culturally and naturally. It’s also known as the tea land with a share of further than 20 to the total world production. Assam is also blessed with minerals, especially petroleum. It has four canvas refineries including Digboi canvas refinery which is one of the oldest in the world with oilfields still producing canvas. The Tour Operators Association Of Assam (TOAA) is the apex body of Tour Drivers from Assam. It has members covering all parts of the Tourism Industry.

Famous for its myriad colors and merriment,’ Baishagu’is generally celebrated by the Bodo Kacharis during medial April. It’s the most cherished jubilee of the Bodo lineage. The Bodos also celebrate it as a springtime jubilee at the arrival of the new time. In this jubilee of Baishagu, numerous traditional musical instruments are used. Similar music instruments are Khawbang, Jotha, Gogona, Siphung, Kham etc. At the end of this Baishagu Festival of Assam, the Assamese people gather together in a specified place for a community prayer which is called “Garjasali” in the Assamese language.
AMBUBACHI MELA
Is the most important jubilee of the Kamakhya tabernacle of Guwahati and is held every time during thunderstorms (mid-JunIt’s a ritual of austerities celebrated with tantric solemnities’. During Ambubashi the doors of the tabernacle remain unrestricted for three days. It’s believed that the earth becomes impure for three days. During this time no husbandry work is accepted.

Ambubachi Mela is held at the Kamakhya tabernacle, after being closed for the aforementioned three days. On the fourth day, only the addicts are allowed to enter inside the tabernacle for deification. Thousands of addicts from each over the country and abroad visit this Mela.
